Frost Hunter level is Moonfrost’s player-wide experience track. It rises from XP awarded by quests and selected activities, then opens recipes, stamina or inventory improvements, and other progression rewards. It is not the same as villager friendship, story completion, a tool tier, a collection milestone, or the deepest Temple room reached. When something is locked, confirm which track the requirement actually names before grinding XP.
A current independent launch guide documents a 41-row level table. Treat that as an October 2026 Early Access observation, not a permanent cap: the Steam page says content will expand during Early Access and does not publish a fixed maximum level.
Read the level panel before choosing an activity
Open the player progression view and note the current level, XP bar, and visible next reward. If the next unlock is useful to an active quest, prioritize actions that explicitly show XP. If the reward is optional furniture while a story prerequisite is blocking you, follow the story instead. Moonfrost’s systems overlap, but XP cannot substitute for an unfinished character conversation or rebuilding stage.
Quest hand-ins are a dependable route because they advance another system at the same time. Furniture and decoration crafting can also award XP according to current third-party records, but repeated crafting consumes processed materials. Check the recipe’s displayed XP and actual usefulness before turning valuable bars, planks, fabric, or Moonfrost Shards into level progress.
Quest XP
Advances story, friendship, or rebuilding while paying the reward shown for that step.
Best double dutyCrafting XP
Useful when the output is also needed for a room, hand-in, collection, or personal build.
Check current recipeCollection rewards
Belong to album milestones and may pay currency or items rather than player XP.
Separate trackFriendship
Comes from chats, gifts, and relationship quests; the EA cap is currently level 3.
Not Frost Hunter XPStack progress instead of farming one number
Choose an active quest, list its required items, and collect them on a route that also fills a collection or gathers future tool materials. Process the resources, then craft only the requested or useful outputs. This sequence earns whatever quest and recipe XP the current build awards while leaving you with story access, blueprints, or repaired services.
For example, a rebuilding job can send you after wood and ore, require refined components, and finish with furniture placement. That touches gathering, workstations, a quest reward, and sometimes a new shop. Purely repeating a cheap decoration may move the bar, but it gives up all of those adjacent gains and may be rebalanced.
Protect high-value materials while leveling
Do not convert every bar or plank into the recipe with the largest reported XP. The same resources can gate Village projects, workstation construction, home requirements, and character requests. Keep a reserve for the active quest chain and review the next two visible steps when possible.
Moonfrost Wiki exposes many extracted recipe and item records, but it clearly warns that a configured asset may be unobtainable in the public build. Use the in-game blueprint and station list to prove availability. Likewise, a third-party level table can document a launch state without guaranteeing that its costs and rewards survive the next Early Access update.
If an XP reward does not match a guide, record the public branch date and trust the game. Do not try to force an old Demo method: the October refreshed Demo and Early Access build have different progression boundaries from earlier tests and from Moonfrost’s retired Web3 design.
Diagnose a level that seems stuck
First check whether the activity actually promises Frost Hunter XP. A collection coin reward, friendship increase, tool-quality improvement, or Temple shortcut can feel like progress without moving this bar. Then confirm the action completed: collect crafted output, finish the dialogue after a hand-in, and close the quest step rather than leaving its final conversation pending.
If the UI still disagrees, capture the level, before-and-after XP, activity, quest step, recipe, date, and Steam build information shown by the client. Restart once before repeating an expensive craft. Report a reproducible mismatch instead of spending more rare resources.
Use the Quest Walkthrough for prerequisite order, Tools and Upgrades for equipment gates, and Collections Guide for album progress that should not be confused with player level.
