Moonfrost Gifts and Friendship Guide

Raise Moonfrost friendship safely with conversations, tested gifts and character requests while respecting the current Early Access Level 3 cap.

Friendship in Moonfrost grows through regular contact, gifts, and character requests. The current Early Access store states that you can befriend 11 villagers up to Level 3. Treat Level 3 as the present public-build ceiling, not as the final relationship design: the full-version plan includes complete friendship progression and romance.

Use a low-risk daily friendship routine

Speak to villagers while following your normal Farm, Village, Neighbourhood, and Mountain route. Complete their requests when the needed resources fit your current progression. Give a gift only when the reaction can be observed and you are comfortable spending the item. Consistency is more useful than burning rare materials on an unverified “best gift” list.

Keep a small journal with the character, item, reaction, date, and whether friendship visibly changed. Current third-party guides document preferences, but Early Access balance or availability can change. Your own live reaction is the best evidence for the version installed on your PC.

Talk

Use ordinary conversation during an efficient daily route and finish all dialogue branches that appear.

Request

Prioritize character tasks because they can combine relationship progress with useful unlocks.

Test gift

Offer one replaceable item, read the reaction, and record the result before repeating it.

Protect stock

Keep quest materials, scarce processed parts, and unknown collectibles out of casual gifting.

Read gift reactions carefully

A positive line indicates that the category is worth testing again; a strongly negative line means stop using that item for the character. Neutral responses are poor choices when resources are limited, even if they technically count as a gift. Do not generalize one character’s reaction to the whole village.

Current community guidance suggests that broadly pleasant items can work for several characters while individual loves, hates, and exceptions still matter. Because preferences and available items may shift, this guide does not freeze an exhaustive permanent table. Verify any high-value recommendation against the live dialogue before committing a rare item.

Item type
Risk
Recommended use
Replaceable crop
Low when you have surplus
Good for testing an undocumented preference.
Cooked dish
Medium because it consumes several inputs
Use after a positive preference is confirmed.
Quest item
High
Reserve until every active delivery is complete.
Rare catch or forage
High if collection status is unknown
Register or preserve the first copy before gifting extras.
Known loved gift
Low after live confirmation
Repeat only within the current game's gifting rules.

Progress friendship levels and requests

Friendship levels are milestones, not just a hidden points race. Speak to the resident after a level changes and watch for a new request, scene, or dialogue branch. A relationship task may depend on story progression, a rebuilt location, a home, or a normal day transition. If no event begins immediately, continue the main village path and revisit later.

Finish requests deliberately. Read the requested item and quantity, collect or craft one full batch, and confirm that the correct character is active before handing anything over. Some character tasks unlock systems or businesses, so they can be more valuable than repeating casual gifts.

At Level 3, stop expecting the next level to appear in the current Early Access scope. Continue interacting if you enjoy the dialogue, but do not sacrifice rare materials trying to force a fourth level that the official store does not advertise as live. Check patch notes after major updates for any expansion.

Separate friendship from romance

The public Early Access description distinguishes current friendship through Level 3 from the full-version plan for complete friendship progression and romance. A character can be friendly, have personal requests, or receive a home without being a currently romanceable partner. Do not treat datamined relationship fields or future dialogue as a live romance system.

Use the Romance Guide for the current boundary and future signals. The safe expectation today is to build relationships, complete available requests, and preserve your save rather than chase an unavailable commitment event.

Troubleshoot stalled friendship

Confirm you are interacting with a villager counted in the current system and that your friendship has not already reached Level 3. Try a normal conversation on a later day, complete any visible request, and check whether their workplace or home progression is unfinished. Observe the gift reaction rather than assuming the item was liked.

If the relationship UI does not update, save normally, leave the area, and return after a day transition. Record the character, current level, last request, gifts tested, and current story stage. Do not spam valuable gifts while the system may be waiting on a quest flag.

Combine relationship visits with the location route in Characters and Schedules. If a character’s next step involves moving, see Home Requirements.
