Moonfrost materials come from several source types: Farm production, wild forage, fishing, harvestable deposits, cleanup, crafting, shops, exchanges and quest rewards. When a recipe asks for Quartz, Silver, Copper or another unfamiliar item, identify the source type before searching the whole map. Exact nodes and availability can change during Early Access, so use current in-game evidence rather than a permanent coordinate claim.
Start from the item and work backward
Open the live recipe or objective and copy the exact material name. Read its description and icon, then check whether it appears as a raw resource, processed component, crop, fish, forage, shop good or quest item. If it is processed, trace its own recipe before traveling.
Search currently unlocked areas first. The Farm covers crops and nearby basic resources; the Village covers shops, exchanges and restoration rewards; the Mountain is the likely broad search region for fishing, forage and mineral-style nodes; cleanup sites can expose special materials; the Temple may contain exploration rewards. A database entry can suggest a category, but it does not prove the item is obtainable on your current branch.
Search for Quartz, Silver and Copper safely
These names generate precise “where is it?” searches, but precision should not become false certainty. Confirm that the current recipe uses the exact name and that the item appears in your public-build UI. Then inspect the description, relevant crafting station, unlocked Mountain routes, cleanup sites and current business inventories.
If a visible deposit will not react, test a basic node with the equipped tool, check its tier and fuel, and advance the related quest or upgrade. If no deposit, vendor entry or live recipe appears, do not assume a hidden mine exists. The item may be progression-gated, processed from another input, or present only in extracted data.
Record the broad area and landmark when you find a source. Also record the tool, story stage and date, because “Mountain” alone cannot explain why the node is absent in another save. Avoid publishing a refresh interval until you have observed it repeatedly in the current version.
Exact name
Distinguish a raw material from a processed part with a similar icon or recipe role.
Live availability
Require an in-game node, recipe, shop, reward, or current player capture before grinding.
Tool gate
Mark blocked sources and return after the relevant tool or cleanup equipment unlocks.
Version note
Attach a check date to location, drop, quantity and refresh observations.
Build repeatable gathering loops
Choose one purpose per trip. A farming loop gathers seeds and harvests; a forage loop covers one region’s edges and known plants; a mining-style loop revisits confirmed deposits; a fishing loop targets a known water area under the conditions you want to test. Empty enough inventory first and bring only the tools needed.
Move through the route in the same direction so it is obvious which nodes were checked. When testing refresh, note the day you harvested and return after normal progression rather than repeatedly reloading. Keep the first example of an unfamiliar item until you have checked collection, quest and recipe uses.
Combine nearby character visits or task turn-ins, but do not let optional crafting consume the materials you came to obtain. Deposit a protected quest batch as soon as practical.
Diagnose a resource that does not appear
Verify the spelling and source category. Confirm that the associated area, business, recipe and tool are actually unlocked. Search the expected region once at a different ordinary time or after a day transition. Check patch notes or current sources if the node existed before an update.
For foraged items, avoid assuming every decorative plant is harvestable. For deposits, test the correct tool and stronger tier where indicated. For shop goods, complete the owner’s rebuilding and follow-up dialogue. For data-only entries, wait for live availability evidence rather than forcing the save.
If reporting a problem, include the material, recipe or quest that requests it, unlocked areas, tool tier, locations checked and date. That makes the report useful even if the resource table changes later.
Use Foraging Guide for wild gathering, Fish and Crops for farm and fishing indexes, and Crafting Recipes for processed chains.
