Moonfrost Characters and Schedules Guide

Find Moonfrost characters across the Farm, Village, Neighbourhood and Mountain, and track shifting schedules without relying on one static location.

Moonfrost characters move as the day and story progress, so the best way to find someone is to track their role and usual regions rather than memorize one permanent tile. The current Early Access store describes 11 villagers whose friendship can reach Level 3. A current third-party walkthrough describes twelve people you meet, because its roster also counts story characters encountered around the Village. Those numbers measure different things; neither should be used to invent a missing resident.

Know the current roster

The named roster documented in the current public-build walkthrough is Walter, Ash, Alba, Ronen, Gerald, Mikey, Celeste, Crow, Jack, Kyung, Ava, and Sabrina. Some introduce core systems, while others are tied to a business, home, or later request. Their story role is the fastest clue to where to search.

Walter is connected to your Farm, the Village store, farming, and cooking. Ash introduces early tools and Build Mode and can appear across several rebuilding areas. Alba drives major village restoration tasks. Ronen is associated with fishing and the Pub. Gerald and Mikey connect to furniture and a Neighbourhood home. Other characters enter through later businesses, services, or story steps.

Farm

Start here for Walter, early tutorials, and any character currently involved in your home or farming progression.

Village

Check rebuilt shops, the square, and active business locations for residents working their normal role.

Neighbourhood

Search completed homes and nearby paths after a resident's moving or building quest advances.

Mountain

Use this region for fishing, gathering, and story characters whose work takes them outside town.

Follow schedule clues instead of camping one spot

If a character is absent, note the time, active quest, and most recent story change. Search their workplace during the working part of the day, then their home or common route later. Newly completed buildings can move a resident from a temporary area into their intended shop or house. Quest scenes can also override a normal route.

Use the map and any available markers, but do not assume a missing marker means the character is gone. Enter the relevant area, wait for it to load, and walk the short route between their work and home. If you have just completed a task, turn it in, finish the conversation, and allow a normal day transition before expecting the next schedule.

Search order
Why it helps
What to record
Active objective
A quest can place someone outside their normal route.
Quest name, stage, and named destination.
Workplace
Most roles point to a shop, service, or rebuilding site.
Area, approximate time, and whether the building is open.
Home
Residents can relocate after a housing task.
Whether their Neighbourhood home is complete.
Travel route
The character may be moving between schedule points.
Paths between the two most likely locations.
Next day
Some state changes settle only after normal progression.
Weather, weekday if displayed, and new quest state.

Walter and Ash are early-system anchors, so revisit the Farm and Village when a tutorial or unlock is incomplete. Alba is the first choice for a village-scale rebuilding objective. Ronen’s fishing role makes water and the Mountain relevant. Gerald’s furniture work and his home connection point toward the Village, Neighbourhood, and later Mountain routes documented by the current guide.

Celeste, Crow, Jack, Kyung, Ava, and Sabrina become easier to locate once their related story or service is active. Do not use a full roster as a reason to skip prerequisites: meeting a name in extracted dialogue or a guide does not guarantee that the person is immediately present in a new save.

For friendship, speak to the character while you are already near their route rather than spending a whole day searching for a single interaction. Combine the visit with deliveries, shopping, gathering, or an active request. That produces steady progress even if a schedule changes after a patch.

Fix a character who seems missing

Read the quest log and make sure no conversation or delivery is waiting elsewhere. Check whether a shop or home must be rebuilt. Search the workplace and home at two different parts of the day, then complete a normal save and day transition. Restart the game only after those state changes have had a chance to apply.

If one person remains unavailable, compare your exact story stage with a current source instead of copying a schedule from a completed save. Report the character, date, time, weather, active quest, last completed objective, and all areas checked. A screenshot of the quest log and empty expected location is more useful than saying the NPC disappeared.

Avoid forcing progress through save editing. Early Access routes can be patched, and a manual change can make later quest state harder to diagnose. Keep a normal backup before major village or home turn-ins if you want a recovery point.

Plan a useful daily circuit

Start at the Farm, handle crops and nearby conversations, then visit the Village for shops and active business owners. Continue to the Neighbourhood if a housing or friendship task is live, and reserve the Mountain for fishing, resources, or characters whose current role sends them there. Reverse the route if an objective names a time-sensitive destination.

For relationships, pair this circuit with the Gifts and Friendship Guide. For residents who have not moved in, use Home Requirements and the Village Rebuilding Guide.
