Moonfrost’s quest line teaches the game in layers: early Farm tasks introduce tools and construction, Walter opens farming and cooking, the FHA steps test Build Mode, and Alba leads the restoration of the Village. Keep the Task Log open and complete each objective in the order displayed. Several quests can overlap, but an action often counts only after its specific step becomes active.
Read the Task Log literally
Select one active quest and identify its verb, quantity, item, character, and location. “Craft,” “place,” “clear,” and “hand in” are different checks. A finished object made before the step became active may not satisfy a craft action, while a hand-in requires the requested items in your carried bag when you choose the character’s quest option.
If a character menu shows a grey quest button, compare the bag contents with the displayed request. Do not rely on items stored in furniture inventory or a chest. Where quality is accepted broadly, a current third-party walkthrough reports that crop hand-ins take lower-quality examples first, but confirm the live prompt before committing valuable produce.
Farm foundation
Follow Ash and Walter's instructions to learn tools, farming, cooking, and the first construction systems.
FHA progression
Build simple valid rooms and complete the active exam before designing a complex permanent home.
Village restoration
Work with Alba, clear one named site at a time, and reserve materials for required repairs.
Friendship requests
Advance character tasks alongside the story when their items and locations overlap your current route.
Follow the main progression flow
Complete the Farm tutorials first. They provide the tools and interfaces later objectives assume you understand. Continue Walter’s farming and cooking steps until the required seeds, work areas, or recipes are visible in your own save. Then finish the active FHA tasks from Ash, using a plain rectangular room whenever a construction check is involved.
Once Alba’s village work opens, expect objectives to combine clearing, gathering, crafting, deliveries, and building. Restore the named project rather than spreading resources across every visible ruin. Character and friendship quests may appear during this sequence; accept them, but do not let an optional delivery consume a material reserved for the main restoration step.
A current independent guide counts 31 story quests and ten friendship quests in the launch Early Access route. Use those totals only as a snapshot from 2026-10-12. The Steam store describes the Early Access release more broadly as roughly half of the main storyline, and later patches can add, remove, or reorder tasks.
Complete cleanup and building steps
For cleanup, inspect the full named area before starting. Basic weeds and debris use ordinary tools, while tougher obstacles may need a later tier. Special cleanup can call for a Leaf Blower, Power Washer, Super Sucker, or materials carried for a repair. Follow the active UI rather than assuming one tool clears everything.
Sweep the boundary after the obvious objects are gone. A small patch, shard, stain, trash item, or repair point can keep the counter open. If a target will not react, verify the equipped tool, fuel or charge, and story unlock. Do not spend replacement materials until you know the action is available.
For room tasks, build the functional shell first: contiguous floor, connected walls, enough interior space and height, plus a door. Add only the named furniture until the quest advances. The Building a Room guide has the focused recovery sequence.
Handle waiting steps and overlapping quests
Some quest stages intentionally open after a day or after another task reaches a milestone. When the log says to wait, finish useful farming, gathering, friendship, or building work and sleep normally. Check the Task Log and relevant character the next day.
With several active quests, group actions by area. Carry Village deliveries together, combine Mountain gathering with character visits, and handle Farm chores before travel. Keep a protected reserve for the current main task so optional crafts do not drain a bottleneck material.
Turn in one task at a time and read the new objective before continuing. A new step may begin during another quest, changing a character’s location or unlocking the recipe you were missing.
Recover from a stuck objective
Confirm the step was active before the action, the location matches the wording, and the exact item or tool is being used. Check both inventory contexts. For deliveries, bring the entire quantity and reopen the character’s dialogue. For placement, move the object, exit Build Mode, and let the game evaluate. For cleanup, trace the area’s outer edge.
If the task still does not update, save normally, leave the area, return, and allow a day transition if the wording permits. Record the quest name, exact step, location, tool or item, and what happened. Compare with a current guide only after capturing your live state, because an Early Access patch can change the sequence.
