Moonfrost Early Access supports meeting villagers, talking, giving gifts, completing relationship tasks, and raising friendship. The official Steam page says friendships are currently capped at level 3. It places all friendship events and the option to romance all bachelors in the planned full 1.0 version. The practical answer is: build friendships now, but do not assume that every complete romance or marriage route is available in the launch build.
Current relationship status
Playable now
Meet and befriend villagers, use the relationship UI, discover gift reactions, and complete available friendship tasks.
Early AccessCurrent cap
The official store states that friendship is capped at level 3 for now.
Level 3Planned for 1.0
The full version is planned to unlock all friendship events and allow romance with all bachelors.
Plan, not shipped statusNot established
A complete current roster of romance routes, marriage, shared housing, children, or post-marriage systems is not stated for the launch build.
Do not inferThis boundary matters when an online guide labels someone a romance option because of character data, dialogue, an old Alpha role, or future-facing marketing. A potential route is not the same as a fully released sequence. Let the current game present the event, choice, and relationship state.
Prepare friendships without wasting rare items
Talk to villagers as you encounter them, open the Contacts record, and note reactions the game has revealed. Current community documentation reports daily and weekly gift limits, preference tiers, and friendship quests. Use the limits shown in your own UI because balance can change during Early Access.
Choose replaceable liked gifts over scarce task materials. If a gift is unknown, keep a backup and avoid testing the only copy of an item needed for a recipe, restoration stage, collection, or villager home. Once a preference is recorded, use it consistently until the current bar or gift limit says to stop.
When a friendship bar fills, look for the person’s next available task or event. A full bar can mean a friendship quest is required, a story prerequisite is missing, or the current Early Access cap has been reached. Giving additional items into a capped state does not create an unreleased romance trigger.
Read relationship signals carefully
Dialogue warmth, a personal quest, special gift reaction, or character-focused scene can be meaningful without being a romance commitment. Use explicit game labels and released events. Do not treat the Steam tag “Dating Sim” as proof that every planned dating feature is complete; tags describe the product broadly, while the Early Access answer defines current scope.
What to do at level 3
Finish any currently offered personal or home-related objective, record the friendship state, and move to another village project. If the contact no longer accepts gifts or the UI shows no further released step, treat that as the present endpoint. You are not required to grind an invisible value beyond the official cap.
Keep useful gifts in storage if you want to continue after a future relationship update, but do not hoard every item at the expense of current crafting and quest progress. Official updates should identify when friendship levels, events, or romance content expand. Revisit the relationship only after a dated change or a clearly new in-game prompt.
Avoid common romance misinformation
Do not mix Moonfrost’s pre-Steam Alpha history with the AppID 2561630 launch branch. Character identities and roles changed during development. Do not turn a roadmap promise into a hidden current feature. Do not call every named villager a bachelor without direct current evidence. Do not promise marriage, children, shared homes, or a proposal item when the official Early Access statement does not establish them.
Be equally careful with negative claims. “Not fully available at launch” does not mean romance was cancelled. Oxalis Games explicitly names romance with all bachelors in the planned full version. The accurate status is incomplete or planned, not absent forever.
Plan a relationship-focused playthrough
Use Villagers to learn roles and conditional locations. Restore businesses and homes because those projects create more places, routines, and character moments. Speak regularly, give evidence-backed preferences within visible limits, and finish friendship tasks as they appear. Keep the main story moving because relationship events can depend on village and location progress.
Follow Updates for a future announcement that actually changes the relationship cap or releases romance content. Until then, enjoy the current character stories on their own terms and stop at the boundary the game shows rather than searching for an undocumented final event.
